As we all transition to our new “norm” at home – working from home, creating at-home gyms, finding ourselves in a home school teacher and entertainment director role – I think we are all starting to scratch our head and wonder what day it is, what time it is, and how we are going to get through April while isolated at home. At JeffreyM Consulting, we recently had a conversation where we all shared how we are personally passing the time. We are all tapping into our creative side or finding time to do those projects we ‘haven’t had time’ for previously. Here are some suggestions from your JeffreyM staff team, hopefully providing you with some fun new at-home ideas to give a whirl as we head into April!

  1. Take a walk in the rain and puddle jump – rain boots required!
  2. Buy new furniture and assemble with your family/housemates. Rearrange your current furniture or purchase bright new pillows, wall décor, etc.
  3. Binge watch anything! (A few JMC favorites currently: Ozark & Tiger King)
  4. Try a new podcast!
  5. Make candles. One of our staff members recommends this candle making kit to help you get started!
  6. Play a board game – a few staff favorites are Yahtzee, Clue, and Gin Rummy.
  7. Crochet a new blanket. What a time to teach yourself how to crochet!
  8. Teach your cat how to do new tricks. (Make sure you video them performing said new trick and post to social media so we can all enjoy a good cat video!)
  9. Puzzles! We think this pandemic is bringing back the puzzle industry. If you can’t find new puzzles in stock, do a porch puzzle swap with some friends.
  10. Bike rides!
  11. Try a new makeup look each day. Try bold new looks with those pallets that you may have been neglecting.
  12. If your Zoom/Teams/Skype calls are getting dull, try the ‘Psych! Outwit Your Friends’ App or Quiplash.
  13. Take a walk at a local beach, the water can be very calming.
  14. Get a puppy or adopt a dog. Being at home means we have plenty of time to devote to training a new furry friend.
  15. Get creative and have a toilet paper craft contest. Who can make the best craft out of toilet paper rolls?
  16. Organize all those photos – we bet you will enjoy the trips down memory lane.
  17. Take an online dance class or exercise class. Many resources are offering free classes!
  18. Learn how to use Tik Tok – there are plenty of dance challenges to learn.
  19. Revisit your childhood and play Final Fantasy 7 again to prep for the new release of the remake!
  20. Brush up on your baking and cooking skills and make those recipes you pinned long ago.
  21. Try 21 days of meditation! Oprah is hosting a 21-Day Meditation Experience: Hope in Uncertain Times. Check it out here.
