Hispanic Heritage Month

LaToya Benson

September 15th marks the start of Hispanic Heritage Month. Celebrating the histories, cultures and contributions of American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America. September 15 is significant because it is the anniversary of independence for Latin American countries Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua. In addition, Mexico and Chile celebrate their independence days on September 16 and September 18, respectively.

Over the next 30 days, you will see highlights on our social media that will have an intentional focus on highlighting our employees and acknowledging the contributions of Hispanic/LatinX Americans. We encourage you to visit https://www.hispanicheritagemonth.gov for more information and resources to help you stay informed and get involved.
